Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

B'ville, not looking good for ya'll

I know some nice hard working people in B'ville, but no Canada and no San Juan makes it hard to justify keeping that shop open. I'm not saying a lot of those folks don't deserve to keep working for COP, but there won't be near as many people needed there. Stressful time for those folks to be sure.

Stressful is right, we are like The Walking Dead everyone just keeps going through the motions and no one is saying anything. I want to get this over with but I'm afraid of what the answer will be. Now we are like the San Juan people. We just keep waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

When ConocoPhillips jobs were moved from Ponca City to Bartlesville many in Bartlesville showed very little class or compassion. Bartlesville has earned it's reputation.

News report indicated that COP operating costs will be cut by 700 million due to the sell offs. People will be getting laid off. Don't need people to run assets if they are sold off. Sad situation.

I agree with jal! Ponca almost dried up when ConocoPhillips pulled out. Now they are hurting Bartlesville. There are a lot of lousy employees there BUT there are some good ones. Good luck to all!

Are you speaking as one of them or just putting your fears on all those people? No one anywhere can be assured of a job next year.

Bville with P66 will be there, Bville with COP will be a memory.
