Jeff Bezos may be a tool, and Amazon scks for lots of reasons, but in the context of Bezos' letter to shareholders, Qualcomm is well into "Day 2". Everyone knows this. Customers know this (Apple called them out on it). Shareholders know this (they've been asking them to split the company to save the tiny piece that still has long term viability). The sad name on the sad stadium broadcasts loud and clear of an era long since past. The people at the top scking it dry as long as they can know this. They will never catch the lightning in a bottle again (Paul tried and tried and failed). Irwin was the only source of the magic. The best they can come up with is to merge with another company in Day 2 and see what happens. But the real fun is going to start when the Americans realize how incompatible the Dutch culture is with their way of working - sure, you're aligned at the top, but I'm talking about in the trenches where the work gets done. Have a seat and grab some popcorn and stroopwaffels, ladies and gentlemen. This is going to be epically FUBAR.
