Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Business as Usual is Weird

Isn't it strange that everyone just keeps rolling along like the old days? The college just got sold to a religious organization that works with the homeless. The value was less than an average house in some places. How in the world does the company just keep cruising along when the are worth less than 1 million. That is less value than a single McDonald's franchise in a busy area.

Things do seam to be looking up so that is one of the good things for the future. If we keep things going we should be good to go and students win also.

AUO pretends to care. They are ripping everyone off. Where is compliance on every call, they only catch who they want to catch. I hope you all lose your jobs due to lack of respect and unethical things going on in that place. I hate to even call it my workplace. Employees and managers do not care about each other or students. It's sad how you mute the phones and talk about what losers the students are to co workers and managers laugh right along with you. What a joke this place is. I cannot wait to be out of here.

It is sooo ridiculous. I was looking at pictures of all the happy AUO employees, all smiles, and celebrating the Pirates' Opener. It is amazing that just a couple of months ago every employee was shaking in their boots, worried about HR catching them on their recorded calls, and waiting for the other boot to drop. Now the smiles are more relief than happiness. Too bad that the "university" lost so many really good people, fired by managers who have no experience whatsoever. Talk about the blind leading the blind.

Of course it's as usual why act any differently. Keep putting your numbers up so they can let everyone go and rehire with 1/2 the salary. See who has the last laugh

The Dream Center is getting a huge can of worms. Presidents and Directors that have no training and bogus degrees from Argosy. The "little people" have held this school together. Closing and getting laid off would be the happiest day of my life.

Deal is finished... more than likely is going to be rejected.

Look at it this way:

No big revelation. If there were no Federal monies other than Pell grants to tap into, the whole "industry" would be gone tomorrow.

Try going to a bank as an 18 year old with zero assets and borrow $100, 000.

It ain't gonna happen.

Guess who's got to get out of the loan business?
