Any news concerning Membership? Waiting is very hard. We know the days are numbered, just want them to get it over with.

Marketing is HISTORY
It is rumored in my club that marketing is done after the first of the year. Ipads freeze and never get repaired....no leads loaded in sales pro....never get necessary materials on time ....hint ...hint! Wonder why ??
Membership will be next, or they will use us through the Holidays! Gone digital, everything that can be offered in field is now online with a better offer. The clock is ticking for Membership...
Sam's Club has been going down hill at our club for awhile now. Manager's so unprofessional. Sleeping with associates. No respect for the individual AT ALL. I am not sad my position as team lead is over. Just hate I didn't leave years ago. 19 years with this club. What a joke. Club Managers come in get the bonus like they have done so much, when its the Accociates who do all the hard work. I have been doing the work of 3 people because they never gave me two people in the cash office as needed. I really hate this place.
Tired of worrying what's going to happen. Managers at our store are so rude to the associates. What happened to respect for the individual? That's beginning to be a thing of the past as well. Managers should not be allowed to disrespect associates but no one seems to care!
They do the same in the HO. When they went to motivate and inspire you or make you forget your friend you spent the last 10 years sitting next was RIFd, they play a Mr. Sam video or start quoting his 'inspirational' messages. Sigh.........
Any layoffs today or next week at Sam's club??
Leaders at home office seem to be quite confused. We are stifled and move too slowly. They hired people from the outside, yet don't let them speak up. The funny thing is, the long-time associates and the new comers all see the same thing: Lack of leadership, accountability, transparency, authentic desire to improve. It is sad. Videos of Mr. Sam have been circulating this week in memory of his passing. How would he have led in today's environment?
I'm guessing the Membership Assistant Manager will be going away again.
Let this serve as a reminder to everyone to put your family and your health first before any job! When this layoff crap happens to you, you will look back and kick yourself for times missed with family, when instead you were busy giving to a company that never cared about you in the first place.
I'm sorry to hear that you lost your position. Sites like this are important because the "leadership" of our company cowers in their ivory tower when it comes to wrecking people's lives. There is no transparency and staggering these layoffs out like this just promotes a climate or turmoil and fear. The people on here who tell us what is coming before our "leaders" do should be appreciated and commended for giving us fair warning.
It's true, this is the beginning of the end. It's so sad the loyalty isn't returned. And it's sad that I and so many others, assumed that it would be. If someone would've told me on Monday that I was getting laid off today, I would've laughed in their face. I trusted my leadership and they truly let me down.
The morale is terrible. There is a twisted belief that employees should be loyal to the company (working over when asked, switch schedules, go work overnights, etc) yet the same amount on loyalty isn't shown back to the employees from the employer. There is no future at Sam's Club, the issue is that if you had $100 to spend on a Sam's Plus Membership or Amazon Prime, the Prime membership wins nearly everytime. Amazon will continue growing and Walmart will continue shrinking. In 25-30 years, Walmart will be the Sears/KMart of this time.
I don't get why they wouldn't just do all of this on one day and get it over with. I love how we have this "associate engagement" team now, when the morale in the building is likely lower than ever before. Good job, Erin. Go back to Tiffany's.
It's easier said than done but if I were an associate who had an office job (membership, receiving, personnel, accounting) and I didn't have a lot of time invested, I would begin submitting applications and resumes. If I was a long term associate in the same situation, I would start devising a backup plan (save a little extra, cut out any unnecessary expenses) work on your resume and hit the job trail when you are offered a severance package. The entire focus is on member facing areas, the office jobs are going away sooner rather than later.
so it seems. will keep the TL and be called sales rep. at least till transitions are done. it's all digital and a third party outsource will take over acquiring new memberships. don't know how they will represent themselves,
