Thread regarding Wal-Mart Stores Inc. layoffs

Town hall meeting tonight at NWACC.

Womack will be there. Ask him what he thinks about the layoffs from Walmart. How it'll trickle down to communities. Impacts to families. Age and maturity of those cut. Off shoring American jobs. Let's see what he has to say. Or if he'll even listen.

I asked Womack in 2011 what his stance was on the H1B visa worker was. He avoided and talked about how he supported Walmart so I stood up and pushed for an answer calling him out on avoiding the question and it resulted in being asked to sit down or I could be removed. It was infuriating. I haven't voted for him since and won't. He has pretty much run unopposed for the last few elections but he will never get my vote. He won't do anything.

W is Woe be unto you in the end. T is for time bomb which is the end letter. The beginning letter W and the ending letter T signifies how they really appreciate hard committed workers. Maybe you didnt get cut this round but what about in the end. Thats the real meaning of the wally world cheer. Watch the ones gone out verses the onés coming in and put it altogether.

It's more than 65000 work permits / yeare

65000 H1B's + H-4 dependent visas work permits + Foreign student work permits = 235000 work visas / year

Maybe we should outsource many of the call centers and desk positions in Washington. If business is encouraged because of tax breaks then washington should really profit. Or the laws will change.

Do you really think Womack cares? He is just Wal-Mart's puppet in Washington.

I can't believe that HR hasn't been touched more than it has. Just about 1.5 years ago they hired over 500 people while the rest of the other Walmart divisions were being laid off. They use the word Walmart family but in the end its all about the buddy system.

Town hall is scheduled for the 13th isn't it? I agree though. Everyone should go and voice their concerns.

Cant believe associates say "give me a W" for a lifetime and for Walmart to turnaround and ruthlessly cut them off payroll and replace them with cheap indentured H1B labor ..don't blame Walmart .. they are in it to make money .. blame Washington .
