Thread regarding Wal-Mart Stores Inc. layoffs

Now, beware...

Legacy application ops was obliterated this time. Many good people lost. This is a serious post, their jobs are being done by vendors and GTS in India now. These vendors like Infosys are reaching out to leadership saying they Can be Walmart's l2 and l3. (IE: optical/tle) eventually they will take over more of l4(development) then they already have. Yesterday I saw so many vendors swarming around those huddle rooms peaking in at who was losing their jobs. There are so many vendors in that building, they know they are taking American jobs and are constantly networking with each other to better each other. Of those 250+ let go yesterday, maybe 5 had Indian names, I'm sure it was the ultimate shock to them because rarely do Indians get laid off.

Whoever posted in defense of what happened to those who were laid off apparently is guilty of throwing people under the bus just to save their job. May he or she be able to rest at night for the role they played. If you didn't disregard the post but if so, please repent. Your day is flashing right before you. I hope you be ready. Wal-Mart has fired their own lawyers for doing what they had been instructed to do. "Stated in a courtroom by other attorneys". Don't you fool yourself.

It's not about people work ethics and job performance. It's about who s--- eggs and throw rocks. The new CEO was paid to come take this role and if he doesn't cut enough jobs out the door he's gone. Just like he came, looking for a job.

So now you got people cloaking so they are not eliminated, they think. And we know what culture of people who has always been known to operate like that. They smile right in your face and cut throat behind your backs. Dont know quite how the Indians do it.

This issue is not about your whether your laid off friends were working hard. It's about guys and gals from India working harder for less money. Walmart believes that the value/cost ratio is much higher with those folks and made an easy decision.

"Hard working" is also a relative term. Based on my (extensive) experience working with Indians here and in India, they work 45 hours before COB on Thursday. We as Americans are minor leaguers compared to them overall when it comes to work ethic. As a former ISD associate who worked in DGTC for almost 6 years, I feel quite comfortable making that statement.

So back to my "moot" point - our hard working friends out of jobs today need to work harder, work for less money, or find another career. That is reality, no sense in saying someone stole jobs. It isn't going to change just because you don't like it or you don't like Indians. Everyone needs to adapt to this reality.

BTW, I don't know if you're the same "Anonymous" that said they stole jobs in the thread above,

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it was someone else. I bet someone said the same thing about our families when the first generation came to the USA. That's sad to think about. Be careful with your words. Free market economy drives these things, nobody's stealing anything.

I know people that worked their a-- off and got laid off, your point is moot. Let's face it, Walmart wants to hire Indians because they are cheaper and move everything off-shore. Lot's of awesome hard working people got laid off.

Indians keep their jobs more because they bust their butts. If you aren't hustling and doing your best every day, someone else will, whether they're from India, China, the US, wherever. That won't change, especially for a company like WMT with thin margins facing very tough competition. You're not entitled to a job because you've been there a long time or are American. That's reality. Are you producing? That's what matters. Competition for jobs is global and you have to accept that and adjust accordingly or you'll be on the outside looking in.

There are some Americans left in the building I assume, and I bet they are the ones who think they need to earn their jobs every day.
