Thread regarding Wal-Mart Stores Inc. layoffs

PM org was drastically cut today.

PM org was drastically cut today. It was pretty clear to me that the direction is to go back to having a workforce as tech strong as possible.

I agree that the culture have been rapidly declining the past few years. I've always felt the innovative ISD died around the 'harvest' and we've been struggle ever since to stay important to the company. Kat didn't help change ISDs loss of influence and it was just getting sad how she was kissing up to GeC over the past few years.

This past year leadership has just been a complete mess. The writings been on the wall for awhile that DTGC is looked at as being too fat and not producing enough. I lot of good people let go today....some needed to go but many head scratchers too:(

"Harvest" absolutely killed us. We went from service focused to NIMBY. Code quality got worse and lead times increased. It's taking far too long for some to realize that Harvest is dead. There have been warnings forever that the PM org wasn't needed anymore. If you work in IT, work in IT. Don't try to manage IT. You're far too replaceable.
