I can't believe for one second they could take away your benefits because you expressed yourself anonymously. The person who pointed out the YEI only being used at quarter end isn't too far off 80% of my team did that, while others just didnt use it, stating it wasn't worth their time. It had good intentions, but when your own manager doesn't use it, how can you expect your subordinates to follow. I have a sigh of relief today. The constant worry and stress is gone. I miss having a job, but I will get another should I choose to.

Here is how to report H1B fraud - https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/temporary-workers/h-1b-specialty-occupations-and-fashion-models/combating-fraud-and-abuse-h-1b-visa-program

This site is affiliated with Walmart. It seems like a nice way to vent anonymously, but it's used by them to monitor you and pull any benefits you may get if you badmouth their layoff techniques.

Shame shame.

Why are posts speaking out against h1b associates being removed? On this thread i have seen 2 posts criticisizing walmart about their h1b hiring practices get removed

BAs, tech experts, some network security getting let go. It isn't stopping. These are good people. Some good enough to be asked to present at a conference coming up and they were let go. Agile is the new way we work. Agile coaches got hit yesterday. NWA can't afford this type of hot. Estimates for Jan were about 1000 including California. Estimates now say about 1000 when done. Why isn't the news on this? Talk about lack of technical people in the news and Walmart lets them go. They are all pay bands. Not performance based. We can't absorb this many let go.

Same approach used in Feb 2016. Glad I had already relocated to a better labor market. Sorry for those impacted. Very disruptive.

Unfortunately the Wal mart PAC we are all asked to contribute to uses the donations to lobby congress of job killing legislation such as h1b reform. So, we are essentially supporting, with our contributions, initiatives that will replace Americans jobs with cheap h1b replacements. I tried to alert local news organizations of the h1b shuffle going on previously. Until this is brought to the light and Wal-mart execs are pressured it will continue. There is a lot of hype about Americans not available for the tech jobs. This couldn't be further from the truth. It is all about driving labor costs down.

There aren't cash registers at the DC's either. You gonna shut them down? Just because there aren't cash registers at the home office doesn't mean you don't need the home office. 🙄

Except many they are cleaning are the do-ers. A high performing Dev I know just got the email. SPA. Fantastic coder. Awesome architect was let go today. No rhyme or reason to these selections.

Walmart works on low margins so they need to pay for the recent emcommerce purchases and large contracts signed on a whim. Before I had my discussion today, I looked at some large purchases that my former paycheck will now be paying for...http://finance.yahoo.com/news/wal-mart-contract-boost-workday-171141452.html, How Wal-Mart Contract Will Boost Workday Revenue, " estimates the deal could be worth $100 million to $200 million in annual revenue"

If u have an extra laptop, move your stuff to it, they dont track what they issue or print it and if you get a call from HR or investigator, just deny it theyre a joke. Go find culture and tech somewhere else

Wal-mart is a miserable place to work. There used to be a time when work was challenging and a sense of pride in the company existed. Those days are long gone. What is left is a sole less institution

So more got the invites today... God knows how many will be laid off and when will this end !!!

Now even if this ends, job security will be lost and thing of past. People still left will be anyway scared and looking to jump at whatever next opportunity available. There are high chances, that even if you survive this round, still you will become obsolete by the next round, due to projects outsourced or moved to GTS/GEC execution chain. Not sure if the plans were to do major clean-up of ISD then why all this expansion construction going on around ISD campus.

I was let go. I realized it last night when the email came. I almost packed up my stuff this morning. The reason that they stated was they reorged the company and my job had gone away. I could reapply and look for 60 days while I was technically still employed. I pushed it and said I wasn't waiting until 12:30 to be laid off. So they did mine early and I was home by 10am. My team has people who do little, visit associate store more than they are at desk, take 3 hour lunches, abuse the PTO system, but are still there. Our manager has even been linked to having a relationship with a subordinate she promoted These are the people they kept. I say have them. I am better off.

Walmart has been replacing people with robots. Seriously.

Have u used the walmart app? It was created by a team of "aware" robots.

Also, have you seen the people of walmart? I wouldn't suggest it.

All the same rooms that were blocked today are blocked tomorrow. So it would seem that it's going to be more of the same tomorrow. Please post if you get a notification tonight for a meeting tomorrow.

These layoffs have nothing to do with your evaluations, they seem to think that Jet.com is going to take down Amazon. Not going to happen, Walmart needs to really take a deep look at their core executives. I understand that this is business, but Walmart the company that lures you in with all of there we are all family speech...is putting a lot of good experienced people (family) out of work. I only hope that all of this backfires and they get get the next email invite letting them know that there position has been eliminated.

All levels are impacted (not just 75 and above). All roles are impacted. It is not performance related at all. Some other criteria.

It is written. Reorg changes, BS skills assessment, position no longer available. ISD is being hit - 10% of the workforce will lose their jobs in the next 2 weeks. Meetings scheduled all day, not just am. Hold your breath, the storm is coming. Good luck to everyone left - hope you can do more with less or you will be next.

Lots of people are packing up worried about their jobs, lots of people are bein laid off left and right. Some planners are for this afternoon as organizational update, does that mean layoff? Or Re-org?
