Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

EEOC Violation?

I heard a rumor that higher ups in Denver called other operators in the DJ and asked them to not hire away Noble employees. Extraction and PDC ignored the request but Synergy acquiesced from what I understand.

Has anyone else heard this? Is this true?

It would not surprise me at all. The managers in the unit I worked for openly discussed contacting other companies and recruiters about not contacting employees. And to affirm your assessment - they were terrible managers and Noble is not the company it's founder intended it to be. Sad really. Not to mention they pay women less than men and that has been proven.

I was told directly from an executive VP that he indeed had that conversation with Extraction. I am not sure about any other company...... but I am 100% positive about extraction.

Stands to reason. Noble would rather lay off and fire. It's so much more fun for the execs.

If that's true that's so messed up. If your solution to combat people leaving is to ask other companies not to hire away employees instead of attempting to address the reason so many people have quit, then you're a terrible manager.

That would be a serious violation if true. Especially since just about everyone here (Noble) is looking for a new gig. Noble has shown was crap outfit they are. Why would anyone want to work here?

I've heard it also. This resulted in someone screwed out of an offer.
