Are you sad with where this company has ended up? Are you worried? are you happy to think about going over to Cenovus? What do you think if you get left at COP? It will be very quite if you have to stay at COP.

Glassdoor reviews are not great but neither is any companies right now. Morale is low after years of looming layoffs. I for one am excited for a new opportunity at CVE. It might be a tough transition period but I'm going to try and be positive and not do the whole us vs them thing.
Look at CVE's reviews on Glassdoor...
get it online
Can we still get issues of the SPIRIT magazine once we're gone, or is that considered proprietory documentation?
So glad when I've been through multiple takeovers, sales whatever we didn't have this site. It is hard enough to go through this without a site like this. Good luck all you're going to need it. Glad I'm no longer in the work force you guys are mean.
The only direction you can offer them is to Tims to see Ray.
CVE won't give two sh*ts about conventional as they never have in the past and aren't likely to start. Unless you are in oilsands you will always play second fiddle.
exit gravy train
When it comes to conventionals, CVE can not hold a candle to COP. They will look to us for direction.
Is there a Timmy's in the Bow? Will Ray be part of the deal? Where will I get my haircut now? So many questions and no answers. We demand more transparency
Is anyone able to confirm what kind of talent resides at CVE? Are they as good as us? Also, do they have a flexible work schedule, I like to take off to the gym at 10:30am.
Cenovus is better. People at Conoco were some of the weakest I have ever seen
I fell great I'm going to cenovus.
I was so sick of the nepotism here. Finally out
Many of your co-workers are going to lose their jobs because of this and you're worried that you might not be able to go to the gym at 10:30?? ?? You're a d--k.
You're = you are
I would imagine their staff is as skill as anyone's . So your worried if they have a flexiable work day because you like to go to the gym at 10:30 so your worried they may expect you to work a straight day from 8>5 and be like all the other common minions in the workforce and either go before work or after . Oh my god I hope they let you also have your 19/30's.

I think the question was not properly framed. " Are you sad how the company has ended up?. I thin the company is just restrategizing to move business operations into a more favourable tax regime and business enviroment in order to maximize value to shareholders. They may buy the business or come back into the play again if enticed with more favourable conditions in future. It is also critical to reduce debts and buy back shares to have more control over the business decisions we make. As a share holder, I give RL thumbs up. However as an employee, there may be some uncertainty, I may be losing my job soon even though I am top notch, having survived 3 layoffs without bootlicking. This is what I have to live with; this is reality. During times of being employed, I prepare for an uncertain future. This is North America, it has nothing to do with COP management. In fact, I think that just as I am a top notch employee, COP has top tier 1 management.
I was told that everyone under RL is going to Cenovus. So that's more people than I thought. I don't know how to feel about moving to Cenovus. I'll be happy to have a office again! I'm going into it with a positive attitude because what else can you do right?
I have never seen a place managed so poorly. They had a great asset and they ran it into the ground. Good thing they sold while they still had something to sell. Now maybe some can get out from all these layers of management.
CPC staff are shocked and demotivated. If COP wanted out of FCCL, then what the heck are they still doing in Surmont? Obviously they can't unload this pig, so the post-truth message from Houston is that this is a "key"asset, despite losing a million bucks a day. IMO, just a matter of months or maybe a year or two until everything has been liquidated from the Canada office. Sad, but I'm happy for those going to Cenovus (if they aren't smoked in 6 months)
Time to get out asap. Anyone willing to stay at this point should be looking for a pay raise. Can't imagine building a career in a place that is constantly for sale.
Just a matter of time until Surmont is dumped. No funding coming from Total. Just nobody interested in picking this asset up right now. Demoralizing to be sure, but out of our control.
1/3 is not a lot. I'm sure COP can't keep the rest there would not be enough work.
Cenovus will be offering positions for ~1/3 of Calgary office staff for people currently working on Canadian conventional assets. Cenovus also plans to flip some of the deep basin assets and the entire horn river block in the next 12 months to steady their balance sheet. Field staff I'm told will stay with the assets so layoffs there will be minimal if at all.
Right now I'm mostly feeling anxious not knowing what's going to happen... where everyone will end up or if we will even have jobs. I work with a great team and am sad to think it will be broken up.
