Just take over the cabinet meetings St. Germ. Not like anyone ran those meetings previously. Although the cabinet knows you've been trying for the power grab all along, why don't you just go for it so it's no longer the worst kept secret . I'm sure the rest of the cabinet will have no reservations whatsoever, given you've been such a wonderful leader focusing on you and you only.

Agreed. Clear golden parachute behavior. Cuts to ensure there are enough monies to fund parachutes across the board.

This is a clear parachute. It was bound to happen with new ownership. They want their own people in leadership positions, especially at the executive level. So don't blame Tim. I think he was a true reformer but the acquisition made it next to impossible. It is anyone's guess now where things are headed. While this is a classic exit message, it was expected. Did Tim right the ship? Maybe a bit? I do believe he had honorable intentions. The history of acquisitions and mergers is written by the buyer. The vanquished have little or no influence. Others will be going. Even if they are an ostensible asset, the new owners will tolerate loss of continuity for their own folks.

He's walking away with well over $1m plus tens of thousands of dollars for insurance coverage.

Seize the opportunity 'Con'stance! You now have your shot at being president. Shine up the shrine. Have some smart people come write intelligent stuff on your whiteboard. Have another organization recognize you for being an advocate for (lack of) diversity. Have Stermy dig up what tiny little nuggets of positive you have achieved on behalf of the students. And please make sure you get all those 'character' references lined up from all the good people you screwed to advance yourself. The day you've been hoping for and undermining others for is finally here!

One of my parents passed but i still have to work to pay bills...this is a bull$hit reason. There was discord between him and new owners or he was told to resign. What crap excuse!

Boy that's a classic BS reason if there ever was one.

Everyone knows that spending more time with the family for any reason is right out save face 101 fool.

Something is up. I heard he was at odds with new owners and got fed up with owners decision to downsize drastically and kill many positions completely.

While his decision comes a month after UOP's parent Apollo Education Group Inc. closed its $1.1 billion merger with a consortium of investors, it has nothing to do with the merger, but instead will give him more time to spend with family following a recent death in the family.
