Why do not create a Union?. At least we could negotiate as a group and some speculations might end. Whitening salaries of supervisors and managers, same task equal salary.

I do not know, I leave it to suggestion

Thanks

This 100%

The number of people who do not even understand basic economics is amazing.

Offshore is worse than onshore and the US has full employment so hiring only US citizens is not possible in many cases.

If those jobs go offshore then kiss the US economy goodbye and enjoy the freefall!

Let's think about this logically. Please hear me out...

Let's say Sabre takes in $3m in revenue and has 10k employees, just to make the numbers easy, so each employee brings in $300k in revenue (imagining the fictional average employee).

If Sabre pays that employee $150k and that employee lives in the US then what does that mean for the US?

Of that $150k, perhaps:

  • 50k is spent on taxes like sales tax, real estate tax, social security, benefitting the US

  • $20k is spent on healthcare, benefitting the US

  • $15k is spent on housing, benefitting the US

  • $15k is spent on a car, benefitting the US

  • $10k is spent on leisure, benefitting the US

  • $5k is spent on food, benefitting the US

So, you could say that the total benefit to Sabre and the US of that local employee, whatever their nationality is, is $300k - $35k = $265k.

Take that same person, but offshore instead of local, their revenue contribution probably is less, say $200k, due to lower productivity (have you tried to collaborate with someone when your working day only overlaps 1 hour?!) and their salary is less too, say $50k. The net benefit now is just $200k - $50k = $150k and of that the US gets nothing. It all goes to Sabre.

So what does Sabre logically do? Will they hire only 1 offshore worker for 1/3 of the salary of a local one? Of course not! Sabre will spend that $150k that they would have spent on 1 onshore worker and hire 3 offshore workers instead, if they can, thus benefitting Sabre $150k x 3 =$450k because $450k > $265k and the US gets nothing.

Be happy that highly educated people are still willing, and able, to come to the US and work for the benefit of the US because you would like the alternative far FAR less!

Nothing they will/can do about it. They brought a dev. mgr. from india because, you know, there are absolutely no unqualified dev. mgrs. here in the USA. When it came to layoffs, the unqualified dev. mgr. that should have been let go and sent back - survived but the Americans were let go.

They should ask Indians to relocate back to India otherwise lose their jobs

Why? for what? Are they discriminating in their layoffs, like can it be proven? Usually you are SOL. Especially when it's Indians laying off white people instead of Indians
