Heard another team was given heads up yesterday. The contractors will end this month and associates have no project to work on. Looks this will be ongoing process. waiting for my cue.

Got today my severance pay. 37% was taken for taxes vs.25% stated in the document given by HR.
Off shore, H1B or citizen, we all worked or working for Terry...

My husband worked 30+ years he was devastated how they brought everyone in one room and announced with VP reading a printed sheet of paper stating they are cutting cost. So did Jeff lied about not affecting associates in his webcast?? No ethics or morality.
Heart goes out to people who lost the job. I heard 13 weeks given as severance as basic. If you worked more than 13 years then one additional week for every year.
14 of development staff and 1 manager let go in Lorain. They sd skill level was also a factor yet we have many off-shore contractors with the same skill levels that are working today. Adding more and more contractors, soon we will only have BA's, PM's & PD's that are 15 year old running the tech at Macys with off-shore coding. Sorry to say but I have seen development 'lost in translation'. Good luck MST.
Can you tell us if you were offered a severance and how they came to the amount? I'm sorry you guys lost your job.
To determine who gets cut they look at your past reviews, attendance, how much you make and sadly you race and gender. My manager was not involved in the decision process only told who was ref. The h1b employees do not make what the Americans make so that might explain why so many are still around. The bottom line if you were let go count yourself lucky because you will have a jump on the rest of us looking for a jobs because there will be more cuts this summer. I hate it for all of us.
I see lawsuit coming their way if they keep H1B visa holders in job and lay off US citizens.
I don't understand how there are H1B visa still in job where i am US citizen with same skills were let go??
