I have heard all of Canada is being sold to another major and will be announced before the next results.
Good for COP but even better for the employees. A package will be so much better as the existing Company wont need many of the employees.

As a Canadian, I would agree with COP leaving this place ASAP with out looking back. When you have opportunites in places like the Permian Basin, producing in Canada is just not that attractive anymore... We can not compete with that Play.
Also who says anyone is guaranteed a package?

I am working on the "team" and have inside knowledge of this. There are currently proposals in place for the WCBU assets as well as another proposal for OSBU. The poster seems like they also have this information as they stated the facts correctly. Good luck to all!
They're getting rid of the bulk of their Plains and Clearwater assets or something like 75kboe/d (mostly natural gas and conventional oil). They're keeping Edson, Montney undeveloped and oilsands operations relatively unchanged. The target is about $2.4B CDN in the asset sale.

Including OSBU? That would not be good. Other players would not let Surmont operate the way it does now
