Did you mean "THE PAAL TRANSFORMATION"? If so, at least the terminology correct. Other companies are making transitions. SLB is making a Transformation. From the perspective of one with an MBA, is there really any difference?

SLB will be, without any doubt, an interesting topic for business management classes. I haven't seen any company that laid off this many people but increased compensation for its executives.

I think it was more than 50k of people! 10-20-30 years from now colleges will be teaching the "THE PAAL TRANSISTION" in business mgmt. 101. The chapter will subtitle as - "when the mkt falls on its azz, maximize your salary and stock bonus quickly and quietly (take care of you first), slash as many front line field jobs as possible (who cares about the employee that actually does the service work) and stack up so many managers in offices it shows the investor that business is still booming (Ponzi scheme/smoke n mirrors), while letting HR think up new legal ways to cutting strings (because there are so many HR people they have nothing to do)."
