Thread regarding Kmart layoffs

Receiving position

What have Kmart stores been doing that eliminated the receiving lead position? Since the position has been eliminated, I regularly check in vendors because I know the process. (I also pack out freight every shift) I feel like I'm being taken advantage of because I know Receiving. My title in the store is Part time Reset Specialist and with only the full time reset associate doing resets, we are way behind.

There cutting hours the stores are being destroyed because of GREED. Customers are walking out because there's no one to help them . Shows how stupid this company really is cutting jobs . so there's no one to assist customers. There not competitive with other retailers . Then the higher ups say what can you do to batting in customers. But all the past they get the question should be WHAT CAN YOU DO TO BRING INN COUSTOMERS .CUT THERE PAY STOP KILLING THE AVERAGE WORKER

I worked for Kmart for 37 yrs. I was consumable lead. My position was eliminated. They said it's been nice good luck. Ha. Bastards.

Our Kmart still has a backroom lead, thank God. We get two trucks a week usually 1200 to 1400 pieces each day. The hardest part is getting it all out since no freight is to be in back and hardly any associates to put it out. But we are doing it and we go home butts dragging. We still have a job and our store is doing rather well in sales.

Kmart is known or taking advantage of people, especially with the whole receiving process. It's not just receiving, it's everything from cashier, to putting people in layaway if you know how to do it. Unload process if even worse because if the line gets backed up, they rather pull you back there than to take care of the customers.

Tell them it's not your job and walk away. Don't do someone else's job...it's not your fault the company got rid of that postion. NEVER volunteer that you know how to do something. They will only take advantage of it

you are being taken advantage of. If they give you more hours & you want more hours then I guess that would be an upside for you. Or if you want to work in receiving for another company, then I think you could ethically put that in your work history.
