Worked as an Zone Manager when Lowe's started building stores in central FL for several years (helped open several of those stores). Later went to work as the Manager of an auto repair shop for about 9 years. I have all kinds of management training. Great with customers. Great sales. Won awards for customer svc & sales, etc. Worked my but off as a DM, for Lowe's for the last 4 years. I was told today that I did not meet the qualifications to be a SM. So I was demoted to a CSA5 (12 months at my pay) (maybe). That is a bunch of garbage.... I'm in my 50's that is the real issue. And at the top of the pay scale for my area.

He is loved by the right people because he's still green and hasn't been screwed over yet. Give him time. We all get there.
I was also not picked. many years with Lowes. Also top of pay scale for a DM. I spoke to someone in the store and they said the new service mgr in there area NEVER worked on the sales floor before. He was DM customer service and WE have to train him on how the sales floor operates because he has no idea. Not only that but he only has less then 6 months at lowes. BUT he is loved by the right people.
How embarrassing it is when your new service manager knows less then you but because she's buddy buddies with store manager she gets the position. Even when other ASM want you over her and they tell you to go to area hr. It's sad day when store managers keep inept people for job security.
My husband faced the same humiliation! After 12 years of superior work and recognition for customer service etc he is Replaced by a DM hired 3 mos ago! Now the new service mgr! It is such BS! Lowes is a horrible company to work for, gives a rats a$$ about its "loyal" hardworking, top of their game employees! How do these people sleep at night?! Best of luck to all who have been screwed!
Mine is the same as yours. 30 years with Lowes and now I have 12 months. Tols I did not make the cut. The best is my area was # 1 in sales for the store along with #1 comp and budget. Never call out always there to change to help cover. I am so disgusted I don't even want to go back Gave 15 yrs to this place. And,while no offence to the people who got it, most have been a DM for less then 1 yr. I was also close to the top of the pay scale. I wish they would have laid me off.
In same situation, worked 15 yrs. y problem is there is no news about it and Lowes is laying about it by saying that they layed off only 2400 workers, not saying that they are laying off 20,000 full time workers with benefit in next one year.
Dear sir: i am sorry for your situation....as mine is similar, as are many others. You certainly have a great work ethic and vast experience! But it really shows how much (little) Lowes values us, and others.. family values, my a--...best of luck to you and all in this situation...
