Q was a great company, innovated, energetic, full of passion and opporuntities. After its success (genius business model), it brought the problems onto itself. Don't be a pig, this idiom means, if Q wants to make money, it needs to have everyone on its value chain makes money. Look at San Diego, everyone is out. Motorola, HP, Nokia, blah, blah, blah. The cell phone business is now 90% margin goes to Apple + Samsung. Everyone else eats sh--. The Chinese phones, I don't even understand how they can survive. If you look at Samsung and Apple, each has its own chipset/baseband plan. In conclusion, it is a matter of time. NXP is a good break thru, a great move. BUT keep in mind, automotive OEMs are very protective on their own ecosystems. They will NEVER allow what happened in smartphone, to happen to them in future.
To Q employees, the fundamental problem is that, THE "OLD" (already established) veterans NEED TO GO. MOVE ON already. Your skill sets are no longer suited for today's competition. Pls go pursuit your passion/your once dream, to open a bar, to open a surf shop, to learn sewing/knitting, whatever you may or may not want to do, PLS go do SOMETHING else. This company needs new blood. H1Bs or not, they are the ones working their butts off, now Q just needs equally passionate management team. (Isnt this too difficult for PJ to see?) Cut those fat cats and bring in new blood.
Again, bring in state of art product offerings.
Also, start hiring Americans. America helped to make you success. This is called corporate social responsibility.
