HLC approves the deal

Today--Phoenix Business Journal- Angela Gonzalez writes: "the Higher Learning Commission has approved Apollo Education Group Inc.'s (Nasdaq: APOL) proposed merger with a consortium of investors, marking the last regulatory approval needed for the $1.1 billion merger agreement.

Plans call for closing the deal by Feb. 1 if other closing conditions are satisfied."

Half the schools gone

Quite possible considering current enrollment levels and the Dept of Ed requirement that enrollment not be increased.

Within 90 days one third of the employees will be gone. It's called "Right Sizing" the staff to meet the enrollment numbers. Within a year over half the employees and schools will be history.
