I work for Humana as a RN in managed care, they laid off over 600 people here yesterday, big meeting scheduled for later today.

To answer the question about what will happen to the employees since the merger was blocked there was mass layoffs at the end of 10/2016 in many departments. The work that the employees provided was been shipped to offshore vendors. They also offered early retirement to any qualified people. They put a lot of hard working people out of work and sent the jobs to other countries to save money so shame on them and good on the DOJ.
The leadership of this company lies as Judge Bates pointed out in his ruling. They threaten to layoff employees when the do not get their way. The deceive regulators in the states they operate. They have a reputation for deceiving and misleading their employees. Why would anyone work for a place like this?
I'm not surprised the merger with Humana did not go through. I'm further concerned with Aetna's current ability to acquire new customers and retain existing through marketing and sales efforts. I believe our future will depend the expertise of the marketing and sales leadership teams to deliver against goals and from what I've seen, I'm deeply concerned about our future as employees.
I'm not sure either, Aetna has lost members and agreed to pay over a billion dollars to humana. It's going to be interesting.
Wondering the same thing. I was eligible for ERP but declined. Of course now I'm attempting to do the work of 3 people since a huge chunk of my team did take it. So not sure at this point if it would be a curse or a blessing for me.
