Fact 1
Paal said that layoffs were over in Jul 2015, Jan 2016, Oct 2016 and then Jan 2017.
Now decide if he is being honest or not.
Fact 2
Paal paycheck depends on cost cutting.
Paal and his minion executives have been always delighted. Wouldn't you be delighted if you get millions of dollars every year in spite of sh--ty performance of the company?
some people are still being kicked out in UK. this is just a bloody business. we human being doesn't need love and care but purely ruthless to each other? shame on capitalism.
We are proud to be loathed and detested by our employees as fear is the best motivator for performance. In the Middle East this was how we work and now Paal wants us to see the same tactics globally

Let's hope that your appointment with the butchers knife is not too far away, your arrogant and uncaring attitude is why Schlumberger is so loathed and detested by so many employees worldwide.
we are experts at delivering value for our shareholders. Employees are like pieces of meat to us that need cutting when the fat is too much. This is how the butcher stays efficient and in business. This is the way of Schlumberger and if you don't like it go work somewhere else.
yes they love cutting costs and getting bonuses
I thought Paal said in the call that management were fully motivated and had a spring in their step - primed like a coil spring for growth
Was he drinking that day???
Some high ups came through gulf of mexico and said Q2 is 20-30% drop in rig/work so yeah they are going to layoff
oh no...............not more cuts. I hate this company
You weren't listening to the Q&A. They took the charge in Q4 but the actual layoffs are on Q1. So no it isn't quite over yet.
