I was RIF'd just before Xmas after more than 30 years of service. From long term expat agreement, it says I can expect 1 week of severance pay for every year of service up to a max of 13 weeks. However an entry in SAP says that I re-joined Halliburton in 2007 and hence I am only eligible for 9 weeks of severance. HR has yet to fully explain this SAP entry. I have exhausted all channels possible with HR and Employee Relations to correct this to 13 weeks of severance pay. They refuse to correct the severance pay to 13 weeks. They are saying that my only option is to file a report with the Dispute Resolution Program...which is run by Halliburton. I fail to see how a program run by my ex-employer would make any impartial or fair judgement. Hence I am reaching out to the community here to ask if anyone has had any similar experience and if yes, what was the action taken along with end result. I'm not opposed to seeking legal advice as well if anyone has a recommendation for a reputable law firm.

no ! its easier for the managment to fill your head with the company propaganda if there is feck all in there to start with ! A very desirable trait in new starts is to believe any crap that comes out of the managements mouths, only later do we realise if the lips are moving its a lie.
Geez. Do you need any IQ at all to get a job with HAL?
Hey wha de fcuk is dis an dat wha you tink eh if you felt dunno you tel me ok canno see why no giv
I'm always surprised ( shouldn't be ) at how many on here absolutely cannot make a proper sentence or spell worth a crap. Jumbled words run together making no sense at all. Anyway, get on with life. Halliburton's new people think they are the golden children and YOU didn't know sh--. Therefore you are gone. They do not care, they have no use for you, they do NOT want you back because they truly believe they have all the answers. It makes no difference what you think or even if they really are wrong. They are in and thousands of us are out. Look for something else and if you are lucky, you can work for a competitor and help everyone else put Halliburton OUT OF BUSINESS. Now wouldn't that make you feel better and it is very long lasting too.
I too had a similar situation and Dispute Resolution worked for me. It took a while though. You have nothing to lose by calling them. If you don't like what the first person you talk to says, ask for somebody else, or call back later until you get someone else. Like the rest of Halliburton, some Dispute Resolution folks do their jobs better than others. Be persistent.
Dispute resolution will provide you with a voucher to hire an attorney. They did for me when I was fighting for my 35 year service award the owed me after being laid off. It worked.
Jack shore does bro gallons of the stuff and he lookun good
Is dat what you use jack?
Honestly, are you serious????
By a tube of KY Jelly and take it like a man.
HAL s---s....................
Stabbing people in the back is even more satisfying. It's dog eat dog out there in the jungle and the fittest survive my brethren.
The best way to get results out of ppl is to fcuk them big time. It's the only way to get the job done an when I hear ppl crying about it I know I've done a good job. No point coming to me whining about this or that as I don't give a rats ass
Some companies will try to fcuk you and there's not much you can do unless you're in a position to fcuk them back and there are many who have.
This outfit don't care about nobody lack of feelings for any 1 all the years working hard and they cannot even give you what's due. That's more embarrassing yet again from the greed company give the people what they are due you thief's.
I thought d--k Turpin was a thief but lesser and Co could beat that all over
Keep the faith see I was in the same position as you where at the end of the day priority is you and the family and we are all aware halliburton have no care to nobody just to managers and the board.
Make sure you get what's due to you and if you feel you can take it further then do so it's what your due they can afford to blow billions away on bad acts of takeovers so the odds are on your side.
Keep strong
Hey Friend,
The hard reality and bigger truth is that you have to go out and find a job at 55 years old.
It may seem unfair how you were treated but you need to put most of your energy into getting back into the workforce.
Maybe the arbitration will work out. At least try and then move on.
There are a lot of people from the mid 40's to the late 60's out of work.
God Bless
That is how they treated me in 2015, but I only got four weeks instead of the thirteen, because I had been hired back in 2010, after being laid off in 2008. In 2008, I DID get the full 13 weeks.
Halliburton WILL, as you are finding out, kcuf YOU over any way that they can.
The worthless socksucker in HR, actually laughed when I asked why I wasn't entitled to the additional 9 weeks after 38 years. Oh, yes, I remember that sniveling son of a b--ch, very, very, well.
Hiring a lawyer may not be financially in your benefit if you are fighting for 4 weeks worth of pay. At the least go ahead and file with the Dispute Resolution Program. See the outcome from that and then go from there. HAL quibbling over 4 weeks of pay for such a long-term employee seems very low indeed.
30 years of service, poor prospects of finding another job any time soon at your age (I'm older, been out of work 11 months), and they want to quibble over a month's pay? That's low. Wish you the best.
It wouldn't hurt to try what they say. It might be the solution.
This is a tricky one. Cannot help with the advice but wanted to say good luck
