Summary of the info we got at meeting.FL

All DM tittles will be eliminated, except : Install sales, LP, and PSA.

Ope specialist will become Csa5 and that is a transition position that has been created only for the re-structure. Valid for 1 year only to allow to locate or apply to a different position.

DM's at my store we have one day to replay to an e-mail to opt in or out of the new positions. The positions are service and support roles kind of what ASM' did, however you will be a hourly full time manager not salary. If you opt in you will be interview for one of the new roles very soon with in hours or days the new role take over 2/1/17. If you opt out, you have one year at the current rate you are getting paid now, but will be placed and schedule will be changed as needed. Vacation will remain, howevere CSA5 Will not see a pay increase from the current pay rate.

The amount of these rules depend on the store volume of sales. We do about 20-25mil we were allowed 5 of these new roles.

ASM some were let go today and that also depends on your sales volume. They have new tittles as well support manager tittles sales, support, and admin.

Lots of info our meeting took about 2 hours late into the afternoon. If i missed something i do apologize i will try to reply to everyone.

The role of the DM was simply to be the middle man of getting things done. We were also the one's who when those same lazy associates (who are often in the break room and they only work 4 hours a day). We answered for your laziness in not getting the job taken care of. So if you think you can run a dept., make report's and speak to them as well as clean, build endcaps, fix the stocker's mistakes because they are in a hurry to finish and go home. Then by all means step up.

Is all corporate greed nothing else. but like they claim to be Lowes Family. let's get rid of some positions so we can compensate our stocks value, corporate bonuses and Wall Street wolves.

Well today went better than I thought it would,with that said my store lost 2 ASMS. We have 12 DMs and we were able to opt in or out of the chance for 7 service manager positions,we all opted in . They said we would have a 4 question interview between now and Friday. If your not selected for one of the jobs then you would take on the CSA5 title at your current rate of pay for one year after that you will be terminated. For all the younger generation start getting sharp on product knowledge and product activity because when have to deal w public and you can answer their questions or explain to them how product work don't be surprise of the complains and remember young blood out there don't call in sick or be on your phones all day sitting in break room because it does happen Good luck into the world of retail

I'm 21 and to be honest, I deserve a chance to compete with people 45 or 50 years old that don't work as hard as me and complain all the time. Youth is the future, and we work better with people than older folks, who get grumpy real easy.

Plus we know as much as the older, more paid well crowd. This is just business, and to stay fresh you need to trim the old fat off the meat sometime.

Good skin, better smiles, more energy, cost less - why wouldn't Lowes want younger workers?

Lowes will be making a big mistake hiring kids that don't know anything about knowledge and customer service however they made choice to go that direction and time will tell when they fail and complains will be poring in and it's very wrong in their part to let go all these employees with lot of service with lowes because they want cheap labor and they want to hire mushrooms. Hire young kids keep them in dark and feed them bs

Its not a title that runs a store its people.

We can also hurt the store by involving these topics on the sales floor. Corporate is killing morale in the stores and in turn it will kill sales

Here in Florida. Good news for those of us looking to escape the yoke of DMs and other necessary management. Now PT staff can go about the task of running Lowe's stores efficiently - if we don't know any part of their jobs already, it'll only take a couple of weeks to learn it.
