My husbands meeting was at 12:30 it was good news. He's been on vacation and didn't even hear about the meeting until this morning when there were about 10 missed calls from the store. I am sorry for all folks who lost jobs today.
My husband lost his job today along with at least 3 more asms. Health benefits stop on Friday those who need to go to doctor better go soon.
It is happening at the distribution level as well. 3 out of 6 assistant operational managers will be fired today. I'm praying my mother isn't one.
@woj - same here, my son was let go after 11 years with the company. He's 29 right now, just got married and he loved this job. He's the only one who works in his family (his wife has twins from a different marriage). It's really heartbreaking to see him go through this but I hope he'll gather strength and bounce back quickly. We'll try to help as much as we can, but one can do only so much. Thank you all for kind words here, this support helps on this web page.
I witnessed many good employees loose their jobs today. Most were managers in the corp offices. They were hard working employees who had been with the company many years......very sad for them and the families at home. Prayers for all the Lowe's employees and families!
My son was an ASM for three years. Been with Lowe's for nine years. Until today. Started straight out of high school. Only job he's ever had. And he just bought a house and a car. They kept the other three ASM's that had less tenure. Sickening feeling.
I am a mother, and my daughter just got married. Now she might be laid off. I am praying that she keeps her job as she needs it right now. I wish you all the best.
