Next week there will be moves and layoffs, HR/AP has already booked several rooms for the occasion.
From personal experience , those targeted are notified by email the night before after COB

The news of the layoffs occur after the fact
An exact count of pink slips may be given, or just a vague range
But no news is good news. Stay positive in the meantime. It may not be nearly as bad as some anticipate
