Year-end Severance Accounting

Was not asked for this, but was surprised at this:

In terms of headcount, 2% of the employees that left the company in 2016 were leadership forum members (SGL 21 and above). What is not reported is that every one of these received a severance package.

But in terms of total severance accrual expense, for 2016, 89% went to this 2%.

This is all justified as "salaries comesurate with the market", but it simply does not feel right, especially given the one ELT member that has actively worked to not grant EOI to anyone age 55 and older.

If this is true, then they've pretty much made it an SGL 21 plus thing anyway. If they took it completely away the exit door would have to be propped open for the mass exodus.

Why have severance at all - just be done with the whole thjng and make it a grade 21+ benefit only.

So, Schaaf took $9 out of every $10 of severance expense for the fifty folks that left Global Wells. He had better live somewhere remote where nobody can find him.

This is disgusting, I don't want to be part of this anymore.
