Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

OK, we are into new year! When do we get to transfer to Houston and when is this awful place (Bartlesville) going to shut down?

We hate the suspense of waiting! All my co-workers are ready to go too! We all know if we don't get to transfer we will be stuck with a house we can't sell and no prospects for work! Management is using this leverage on us knowing we dare not complain. Really tense working environment. Come in early, leave late, do as much as possible, be as nice as possible, s--- up to boss, and never complain about anything!

For a group of people with a free indoor pool, you are very irritable.

You will have to wait until 2018 move to EC4 before you can transfer and Barlesville offices are moth balled forever!

The person left out the word "you". Is that deserving of your vulture like pouncing on the post. Do you feel better little man? If your feeble brain couldn't comprehend the question with that omission I feel sorrier for you than the poster. So tell us then, how some poster can speak as the headquarter know it all without some sort backing. It must I read it on the internet so it must be true.

I love the sentence structure of your question! I assume you did not waste much of your time in school or perhaps you are recovering from a stoke, if the later then chin up keep smiling! One with basic intelligence would easily assume that a headquarters perspective would also be a Houston perspective since that is where headquarters is located.

And where did come up with headquarters view point ?

Looking at this from a headquarters perspective it appears that a Bartlesville heritage culture and it's small town isolation are what most dislike about it. Current management is so deeply imbedded that there does not appear to be any way to improve the situation. It appears that transferring if you can is the best remedy.

Anyone who has been laid off would never wish anyone else to be laid off. Hopefully that type of comment is just from the same missable person who keeps saying it on several threads. Yes, there are some employees in Bartlesville that probably aren't producing much, but there are still some good people there! Anyone who can only say 'close Bartlesville' knows he/she is of little value and fears being laid off, so he/she thinks closing Bartlesville will save his/her job. Stop the venomous comments! You are only hurting yourself!

There are people in Bartlesville who don't make much money but go to work and do their best, while the toxic 'close Bartlesville' poster probably makes double their salary.

Be thankful, keep your head down and do the best job you can do! Wishing financial doom on others ( no matter where they are) is tacky and tasteless.

I was laid off in 2015 and it hurt, but I picked myself up and found other employment without the backstabbing dirty games that I'm sure the 'close Bartlesville' poster breeds in the office since it is common to see on those comments on the message board. I would NEVER wish anyone that is still working at COP to be laid off! Grow up! Use the EAP! The company provides it to help! Even though I'm not sure the 'close Bartlesville' poster can be helped!

Don't punish good people for being in a bad place! Close Bartlesville and let them transfer to Houston if they are needed and competent.

I can see by these comments why Bartlesville is hated so much! Shut it down! Shut Bartlesville down and lay everyone off! Do it now!!!

If you haven't already gotten the email, then you are not being transfered.

Then quit and find a better environment that is more stable! One thing that is certain, it is the uncertainty of oil and gas!

Easy to criticize and obvious you are not wanting to start a family! We don't want to start family in this environment with all the uncertainties.

blah blah blah, same whiny brat, blah blah....

you're the girl who thinks because she spends most the day on her knees she can cry and whine to get her way..... and when you don't, you harp and harp and harp. eventually your boss unloads on your face, pulls his pants up, and tells you to get the f--- out.

the end
