Salary comparison initiative is meant to raise managers income and lower the income for field people.

The glory days are over. The industry has just leveled out with the rest of the industries. Look for the board to change CEO and start replacing the over paid to improve their return.

basically the old days of good ole "Oil field high pay" is over. The patch has become focused on cutting everything cause the Oil Co. wants to maximize profits at $50 oil which is here to stay for a few more years if not longer. So, if you been with the company 20-30 yr and a manager making 140kish, that's done. If they don't force retire you, they may cut your salary. And when you do retire, your replacement will never make that much in that position. If you just out of college, engineering degree, shave and cut your hair sometimes, run around as if you had two pots of coffee - your hired at 42k a year. If your in Sales and feel like your over worked, you better like it cause the college kid will do your job for 60-70% % less in salary than yourself.
