Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Take your severance package or whatever they offer, hold your head high...

No one wants to be part of a layoff. As an accountant, with a master's degree, I can say that I never wanted to be an accountant. I sacrificed to succeed. I knew I could always get a job. Change can be a good thing. REMEMBER, this is not your fault. You've done nothing wrong. It is almost impossible to not feel badly. I have been laid off so many times.

Those who receive compensation will have time to find jobs. Do NOT walk out! It will hurt you more than anything in this situation. You need a solid resume. Take a deep breath. Take your severance package or whatever they offer. Hold your head high! I do not work for Lowe's. It is obvious the new jobs will be less pay. Each of you have a personal decision. It will benefit you to talk the talk and walk the walk. It is the corporate way.

Please do not get upset and make a rash decision. Talk to someone, a friend, family member, someone who will listen. Ask those closest to you to be supportive. Everything is changing. Make the best decision regarding your health insurance. Explore new options to save money. I can legally give financial advice. You will have to make 401k decisions. Talk to a financial adviser regarding the stock market. Above all, consider the income tax effect of each decision you face! Be smart. This is your money and your future. LB

I actually appreciate your suggestions and kindness. During times of hardship, the aspects of negativity do not uphold the best with me. The only way to move forward in a general correct direction is with positivity as the thought processes in the mind. Thanks for your uplifting story.

And who cares if you're an accountant and have a master's degree, does that make you someone credible? Go push some carts in the parking lot and shutup.

You sound like you're someone who was NOT laid off, so it's easy for you to say that.
