I feel for everyone in Sidney, Cabela's corporate and people out in Cabela's retail. But the end is near and it's not good for Sidney. Get out while you can. If you own a house in Sidney, or surrounding communities, forget it and move on. Find a job elsewhere, while you can. Don't ask me about sources, just read everything you can about the deal. Cabela's sales are suffering and Tommy is willing to make a deal with BP at any cost. S---s for Cabela's and Sidney, but Tommy doesn't care!!!!!

with all the talk of lay offs (nothing new here) i will believe when i see it. We have been down this road so many times, it is beginning to sound a bit like bad reruns of chicken little. (the sky is falling the sky is falling), of the little boy who cried wolf.
My apologies for sounding cynical, comes with the territory, between the political mess of corporate coupled with the high school mentality of the community.
No one knows what to believe any more.
so the rats have left a sinking ship eh?
The attorneys left to zipo lighters and pet smart company. If you find another position get the hell out of Sidney. When D--k passed the company died with him. Sales are so bad with missed sales by 100 million dollars. We have borrowed so much money we are 6 feet in debt over our head. The light at the end of tunnel is actually a train either get on it or get run over it is the last train stop for this small town. We had such a great company and brand gone 3 years later after D--k passes. And now we hear layoffs coming in March.
And if the rumors is true many more will have the 'opportunity' to move as well.
I am happy i made it our with what little I had left.
Saddend for those who are not able to leave.
No pity for those who chose to stay and had the chance to leave.
They quit to move outta here like the other hundreds are doing.
Wrong, assigning Cabelas a death sentence. Hunting and fishing is about passion and great gear is an important part of it. Cabelas is led by a ship of fools, I and so many others are not supporting that anymore. Dollars talk
therefore consigning Sidney to a death sentence correct?
You have it all wrong, it is not "we are free to leave" it is, we are free to spend our money elsewhere" and we are. Why support such fools as the e-team and the board. No way, I and so many are going out of our way to shop elsewhere
why would we not believe what the board and city council tells us, the see the whole picture we just see a small slice.
Powerhouse of the panhandle. Are you insane. Your board sold you out to the WORST possible buyer. That is a company that already has a person doing your job down in Missouri. What's the #1 rule of a buy out like this? ELIMINATE REDUNDANTCY. You better hope and pray this BP deal falls apart and they find a private equity firm to step in. The executive teams job right now is to keep the troops calm until the deal goes through and they get paid. Don't be naive. Stand up and fight.
What you are hearing is opportunity knocking arch and you will see Cabela's will come back better than ever,. And Sidney will be the powerhouse of the panhandle when all things are said and done.
Stop bashing Cabela's and Sidney. If you do not believe in the direction we are heading then you are free to leave
Figures since a couple of the Cabela's attorneys houses are now on the market.
Heard half the corporate attorneys were let go recently
