The problem with them

I was a store manager for them and had positive gains, reduced turnover and improved customer relations in every store the placed me in. I enjoyed leading and developing my associates and several of them became store managers. The problem with them is the want you to keep pushing and pushing there business and sales without really developing executives. Time and time again favoritism is in play placing poor or lazy leaders who really are not qualified, lack the proven success and are drinking buddies with superiors. The hours are tough and not a good work life balance especially if you have children or during the holidays when you have to be in the store by 2 on Thanksgiving day. Needless to say I left the company after several years due to burnout and stress caused by miss managing support.

I, too, was recently let go. Their severance package is vague and a joke. It's take it or leave it. The grass isn't always greener. The open door policy isn't followed up on.

As previous stated from a Store Manager, they forget training there managers, business is constantly evolving. They are too far behind to catch up.

And if they are laying off the ones with the knowledge because they have a higher pay rate, that means this company won't be around much longer. You need the vets to train the newbies. Very sad. They are cutting their own throats to save money in the short term with payroll.

Worked there for 12 years, walked out in oct 16 as an assistant manager. Corporate is a nightmare. There is no confidentiality. If you're not one of the dms pets your over looked even after exhausting yourself to the bone and exceeding their ridiculous expectations. Good riddance to them! No time for personal life. No advancement. STAY SWAY!

Company is a disaster and spinning out of control. Company leadership refuses to make any significant changes in the strategy because they don't have any new ideas. Just rehashing what hasn't worked previously. Insane pressure on stores to execute low value tasks and get customers to sign up for credit. Emphasis on credit is incredibly disproportionate to what really matters. Stay away....
