Ridiculous! The reason why Freescale was bought IS because NXP had NO important products whatsoever! For the same reason Qualcomm now wants to buy NXP! Automotive is the future for the next 10 years not some cheap ID card or androd phone chips for which no one cares about. And just how can you get and keep the products without having the Engineers and Marketing people which support and develop these products? A good relationship with automotive customers is more important than any other customer. What Freescale people got in turn are questionable NXP working practices and irrational management. The company is turning into having a cheap engineering workforce, lots of contractors and highly over-payed management (see Tata Consultancy Services and the likes)

agree with you. nxp should have got all patents and products and lay the rest to rest.
