I hope this comes back to bite Baker in the a-- big time. They've gone beyond working lean and taking cost saving measures. They've maimed themselves and are no longer able to go after the big boy work, at least not in the GoM. They got that nice little HAL payout, they've shut down facilities, and they've spun off BJ Services, and they're still hemorrhaging money. Talk about mismanagement. I know plenty of people who have been laid off who have said they are not going back when Baker/GE calls them back. They tell you not to take it personally when you're laid off, but how in the world do you not take it that way? You do your job and do it to the best of your ability, and in the end it doesn't mean sh-- because someone up top who doesn't know you just sees you as a number on a piece of paper.
With all of the cut backs, lay offs, and shut downs that Baker is doing, what exactly is the GE buying?
The people who can help have all been laid off.
Experienced extreme shortage in talent today at Rankin Road, any advices? Is there anybody out there who can help?
There was already a huge talent shortage during the last upturn, and still is due to 'wrong' people being laid off. We just hired anyone to fill the positions. Clients did not like when we showed up without a full crew. The man count was more important than the quality. The experience gap will never go away in the service companies because management have made working there undesirable.
We have confirmed the talent shortage in management, this has been communicated to GE.
This is correct. We have an enormous talent shortage already - in the management department.
There's a talent shortage now. You only have to look at the morons we work with.
