every department will be spun down until they can sell off the profitable portions of this so called school. A disconnect order for several thousand arrived on my desk on Valentine's day. How ironic that they would show this type of love to the employees on this day. I have kept this info on the dl until I could confirm in the meeting actual target dates. Just like every other email any of us receive from management, one needs an Enigma machine to decode the nonsense they are trying to push. It is official, thousands will be termed and many will have new job titles as we are reassigning access and credentials over the next two months. Start looking people, the shop is closing and everything is on clearance.

This place is done come 2018 at the latest.
The college wont be shutting down. Everyone is so worried about it. Will there be layoffs? Probably. Downsizing? More than likely. Im in ADG and we're not sure the direction of our department. We may be dissolved and/or split into a few divisions.
If you are a good employee here, keep doing what you're doing, keep your head down, and you should be fine. Ive been here a long time, and have been through this situation at least 6 times. Keep working, show your value, and let the lazy folk fall away.
Does prior length of service count toward severance? My guess probably not, since it's a new company and we get new job titles and salaries.
New title less money. New regions less employees. New layoffs less Severence. Do you see a trend?
Now you are targeting newly graduated High schoolers? Shame on you for burdening them with useless debt when they need to going to a vocational school or community college. Targeting the lowest common denominator- shame on you!
Climb onboard the UoPX train wreck. We are going to change a tire at 50mph. We are headed for a million students. 4BI. Forget regional we are college centric. Be more conversational, hurry transfer them. We are for the working adult targeting new High School graduates. How did we get here? Same as it ever was.
So what are some of the dates???
Legacy salary to go first
Obw - How are you going to "confirm" this? "Hey, Manager. IT Guy says a bunch of us are getting whacked. Is it true? No? OK, Thanks!"
Given the circumstance, it is probably much more likely that IT Guy is correct than not. You can either agree with that and act accordingly, or wait for rock-solid confirmation in the form of a letter that starts out "UoP would like to thank you for your years of service........".
I can believe this but without more specific numbers nothing can be confirmed. We need numbers such as how many in the QC? The Business ERs? Healthcare ERs? Etc. Once IT guy produces some specific information on numbers, We can go back to our departments and start back checking to confirm. Time for all of us to get to confirming, IT guy we need numbers please.
The shop is closing and all shirts are.....half off!
Lol this site is so stupid
Everyone calm down............and take off your shirts come on Camden baby! Several thousand lol the request to take off your shirt came across my desk on Valentine's Day.
Will the remaining supply of fake degrees be for sale. And maybe the fake degree printing machines?
Any specifics on how it will affect current IT or departments?
No one is safe..thats the scary part
UOP does not have 'tenured' professors. !6 years was an adjunct who simply didn't get offered any contracts and was deactivated.
You have been warned---again
The sad thing is that as much as you may make employees aware of coming changes, they will keep their heads in the sand and hope it doesn't effect them- and then they are shocked when they get downsized- just like the 16 yr tenured professor- shocked- really???
You need to believe what IT guys says. I have heard the same story from reliable sources, plus this matches exactly the steps that the new owners have taken when they bought other companies. They are in this for a quick profit. Consider they are much like a 'house flipper'. They are only in this to turn make a quick buck, and keeping a lot of overpaid worthless employees around is not how to achieve this result.
