This is indeed true, I heard from a VP that 5,000 positions were created in India/China while 5,000 headcount were slated to be cut from San Diego. However, I heard this about 9-12 months ago, so they are probably chopping more San Diegans very soon ...
I'm sure QC will be making reductions in the parts of NXP they don't intend to keep, possibly the fab operations.
Do you think NXP will be reducing their work force? Wrong only the QC matrix is a disaster, QC will be cut for sure in order to maintain hard and respectable people from NXP, 4/5 at QC are use people passing data with no value.....
There is no way a company as big as Qualcomm can lay off 40% of an entire business division in one year. Hell, it takes them a year just to make a simple decision. I'm not saying it won't eventually happen, as NXP has something like 45,000 heads, but its going to be a long process.
Please please include QCT Quality there is no value in that group.
