I would have been happier to come into an email saying sorry we sold San Juan this is your new daddy, rather than this long drawn out method. Man you all can't ever do anything better than any other company except run things into the ground.

I joined from a company that kept everything secret until it happened. That makes everyone paranoid that they will be fired anytime without warning. Here at COP we share everything, and that leads to a long agony. Both are bad - but I do at least see that there is good intent on the COP side, that they are trying to be open and honest, versus my last two companies that stuck it to you with no warning at all.
Like the 3 layoffs before, we must extend the torture as long as we can. It's your just punishment.
