Companies don't want to take the employees if they acquire the assets. They are overpaid and can't handle a real work load. Get real. You will get packages out and be greatful for it.

Storm clouds on the horizon. The Company is selling business units separately to maximize sale value as sum of parts is greater than whole. Employees to go with business unit. Company is positioning North America assets based on 80/20 model. Need only 20percent of assets. Between investment in automation and sale of low-value business units, North America COP head count to be greatly reduced. Current global head count currently at 13,300. Head count going below 10,000 after 2017 business unit sales completed.

I heard the only hindrance is that we haven't gotten the price we want.

I should correct myself... Higher profile exit, not bigger in bb/d.

I don't understand why some people find this so hard to fathom, there has been bigger exits; e.g. Statoil selling all it's oil sands production. If COP keeps WCBU, I would assume it's only because they could not get deal they wanted.
