The bonus is for the 'worlds largest independant' running the fewest rigs in the US (maybe globally also?). Chevron has more (10) rigs in the Permian than COP does in all of the L48. On the opposite end of the spectrum tiny Parsley Energy has six rigs in Permian. We give ourselves a bonus for being a pathetic oil company.
