Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

The ASMs who survived the cut are still hiding the back office

I visited my old store today. The ASMs who survived the cut are still hiding the back office. I thought under the new staffing model they were supposed to be on the floor most of the time. I spoke with an ex DM who did not make the cut.

She is riding out her year walking around talking to customers. She was told by the SM that she cannot perform any of her old duties. That is the opposite of what you have been told. She also said the new seasonal hires are already jaded.

They see what is happening. Most of them are not trying and are just collecting their checks until they find a better job elsewhere. The people on the floor believe specialists will be the next to be let go, within months. Even if this is not true, the mindset of who is next has destroyed store morale.

Love where you live.

Cant when you get let go and looseyour home.

I am adivorced single mother with kids.

Lowes used to be family....now just corporate greed and stock price.

Niblock paid millions

Millions go to marketing jimmy johnson....it would certainly help stock price ifceo would sacrifice.

Million dollar mansion...corporate helicopter and jets while we struggle for food and shelter

Feel bad for friends who are still at my old store. (I got out soon after the Chicago test was announced in the fall of '15.) They are stressed out, have all had their lives turned upside down and are being fed a line of bull and expected to show up for work with a smile on their face. This is about executive bonuses. It has nothing to do with productivity. There's a special place in hell for guys like Robert Niblock..

Get out while you can!

All installed sales positions will be eliminated. They are going to a CPO o once the CPO is up and running in your area your jobs are gone. What's unknown is what the Department Manager will be doing??? No Lateral position. So they become CSA 5's now??

As a full-time CSA I am now the defacto department manager. "Well you're a full time guy so you have more invested...blah blah". I am not looking forward to being the "boss" of all the part timers. I was hoping to grab a Department Manager title at my store, but that's not an option now. It's going from 1 department to 3-4. Quite a jump. Now with the restructure its going to be hard for a relative newcomer to move up because of the displaced employees. Maybe they will bring the Team Leader back.

Meanwhile they are having a blast eating, drinking, and gambling in Las Vegas. Is this really what I want to be a part of? Yeah I'm complaining but that is what these sites are for. Maybe Home Depot will get wise and start recruiting... Good Luck to All.

The reason the ASM's are hiding is because they know they are next. Lowe's finally came up with an inexpensive way to eliminate the ASM's. I hope all of you full timers are looking for new jobs because, after the ASM's are laid off, you're next. It's gonna be like shopping at Wal-Mart. Walk around forever hoping to find someone with enough experience to give you a straight answer. Just proves that Lowe's has sold out to cheap imported products and has the most rediculous return practices in retail. Lowe's gives money away at the customer service desk because the ASM's are afraid of confrontation and customer complaints. Guess what, the customer is NOT always right. Especially when they just stood their return from the Lowe's down the road.

Service managers? First thing they need to learn is everything about what customers really look for when they enter Lowe's. Someone who actually knows what the hell they're talking about. Imagine asking a 19 year old part timer about anything other than their cell phones and hoping that you'll get anything near an educated answer. Good luck Lowe's, you might as well sell out to Home Depot cuz they're going to get all of your lost business and your best employees.

Not much faith in Lowe's. Spent my years at Lowe's trying to build a career only to find out that Lowe's is not interested in people who actually know what they're talking about. As usual, they're only interested in the bottom line. They wanted us to buy into their " purpose". ( Help people love where they live) but forgot that you have to be able to keep your home to love it. I guess they had to pay for the CEO's 15% pay increase somehow.

I was in a lowes location today and didn't see an Sam the entire time. I was all over the store and just a lot of employees doing nothing. Wait until it gets busy, it will really be bad to shop at a Lowes.
