I wonder how long it will take for EDMC to tell staff not to talk to students about Gainful Employment results.

Our faculty knew about it and were instructed to wait for all facts and information before talking to students. We are open and talk to students about it. No problems at my campus. Departments, the Dean, and the Pres have an Open Door Policy about it, too.
How do you interview a student and take an application and not disclose this? I hope this is happening, I really do. If your leaders are telling you not to do it, do it anyway. You'll get fired but at least you can walk away knowing you did the right thing.
I'm an employee at AI and trust me if you are a student I will withdrawal from school. They are telling students that they will have alternative financing if programs fails Gainful Employment later on in the year. But guess what? Only financing will be private loans. If you don't have good credit you won't be able to qualify. Do yourself a favor, whatever money that you have left from FAFSA, save it and use it at another college to get your degree. If you stay in your program until they announce that the program is not eligible for FAFSA anymore, that will be less money you will have if you transfer to another school from the Federal Government. Trust me... do yourself a favor and get out of AI while you still have a chance and still have funds from FAFSA. Keep in mind that as a student you only get about $57,500 in student loans and about $24,000 in Pell Grants. Once that money runs out there's no more. You are going to have to start paying off your student loans to get more like a credit limit on a credit card. The only difference is that your credit limit won't be increased for Student Federal Loans. Pell Grants, once you used it all you WILL NEVER get more. If I was a student reading this I will notify all my classmates and have them notify all their classmates and get out while you still have some funds left from FAFSA.
It was not supposed to launch but oops it accidentally launched. now students are panicked and admin is scurrying and of course faculty is to be the first line of defense. wtf?
"Not your fault, bad management"..... "I got this!" LMAO #youaintgotshit
When your CEO of EDMC comes to one's school, and says, "I got this!" Looks like you ain't got this....Looks like Gainful Employment got you!!!

If gainful employment is to succeed it must be applied to all institutions - for-profits, private and public . Singling out private schools is outrageous. You want to help students, help them all. But be prepared to kill creative programs nationwide- if the only qualifier is salary after graduation. No poets, dance, theater, arts, english lit- the list will be endless. Many students don't necessarily go in to the careers they study. College is more then a paycheck. It focuses goals, build character and contacts. The DOE should track the numbers and colleges must be honest with students about their prospects. Students need to be realistic that not all programs are successful right after graduation. It takes time to build your career.
Emails went out
None of this matters. There is a bill to abolish the DOE.
Whoever is lobbying for EDMC got it all wrong. Devos is not going to save For Profit schools
Because Betsy Devos was confirmed and they are confident it will go bye bye
We were instructed not to disclose gainful employment .. It was supposed to launch today
True but we still have to disclose. EDMC preaches that they are honest and never did any wrong with recruiting students. If they don't disclose , wouldn't it be like going against everything you were accused of?
Students can find that information on their own if they cared
Any news on why we haven't disclosed to students the failing programs?
I no more need Jesus than I need ignoance.
WTF?
Y'all MFs need Jesus!
Our campus has been instructed no to talk to students about GE until further notice.
Don't worry... we'll let em know.
i did not get such an email.
There was an email that went out last week to not speak to students about the Gainful Employment Numbers, now it will be put on ice.
