Depends on your experience level and expected living standards.

You need about $300k/yr gross to live here well in comfort.

And that's after you buy a $1M+ modest starter home close enough to commute to Q.

Welcome to Bangalore/Q in San Diego.

Measure your salary in take-home after-tax square feet of real estate per year. A $120k Salary in San Diego is roughly an $80k take-home salary which is 200 square feet at $400 per square foot which is not bad, in the Bay Area people struggle to take home 100 square feet of real estate per year ...

If you live in Austin TX or some other nice midwestern city, expect to take home 500 square feet of real estate per year ...

Depends on a lot of factors, but its not really great compared to the Googles and Amazons.

The real question is why you want to tank your future by coming here. Qualcomm is in the process currently of self destructing.
