Thread regarding Sears layoffs

KMART HAS ITS OWN LAYOFF PAGE

Do you know there's a SEPARATE page here for Kmart? I realize that Sears and Kmart are both owned by SHC, but what applies to Kmart doesn't necessarily (or even ordinarily) apply to Sears.

It's getting irritating that people posting here are talking about Kmart half the time, and not even bothering to be specific about it either.

For outsiders, this dog-eat-dog behavior is yet another sign of the pending collapse. It must be really bad in there. Would t know, haven't been in a Kmart in probably 15 years and Sears only because of the convenient front row parking using Sears as a passageway to the real stores in the mall.

Kmart layoff page is lame. Come here to find out that Kmart is shutting own just as fast as sears. Its all going Bankrupt. Kmart layoff page is not as informative or as current.

I appreciate you clarifying your post OP. I work for Sears but I feel better informed reading the KMart specific and not so specific posts. Since there is overlap, I think it makes sense to be all in one place.

Please...

Get over it... Sears and Kmart are of the same source.

Both are in a downward spiral. We are on the same ship.

News flash! Kmart and Sears are now one format.. just look at the merger of the AP in the past few weeks, wake up... you might be working at Sears today and at Sears tomorrow!! I actually prefer it all on one page... reminds the Kmart folks that dispite Sears sales being more in a slump than Kmart's, kmart still sees all the cuts.. while Sears gets remodeled!

Elitist....

Who cares. Both are going out of business at the same time.

OP here. Sorry if I sounded rude. There's been a lot of rudeness in here lately and I suppose it's rubbing off on me. My only real point is that everyone should specify what format they're talking about. Like I said, I realize there's a lot of bleed over, but it isn't always the case. However, to the commenters who continue to make comments about how stupid we all are for still working for SHC, abou how ALL the stores will close eventually and blah blah blah, why don't YOU move on? If you're only visiting this page to criticize the people on here who still care about their jobs in spite of it all, keep it to yourself. Don't presume to know other people's minds. We're not a bunch of idiots. I would venture to guess that many of us who are are still working for this place do so because we love our co-workers. We all know we'll have to move on eventually, and some of us will stay til the end. It's not for Eddie, that's for sure.

There is only one company, and what effects one branch affects the other. They both started integrated retail at the same time, shop your way rules are the same for both and they announce the store closings for both chains at the same time. LOL. If your point was to say that people should specify which format they are talking about, then say that. But to say that they should be in separate posts sounds like a Lampert idea so that people will only read about one chain and think the company is only in half as much trouble as they are. So maybe people will start specifying which chain they are talking about and the moderators can close the Kmart page. This way we can have one consolidated Sears Holdings page and we can all watch the company disintegrate together.

A lot of what happens at Kmart happens or will happen at Sears. The simple store concept is a Kmart idea, who knows, they might try it at Sears. The Sears side could be simplified.

I guess the only thing disproportionate about Sears vs Kmart is that the Kmart's get the axe a hell of a lot more than Sears. That might change because there would be no Kmart's left at this rate and many Sears stores are performing terribly, year after year.

why the 'fcuk' worry about if its a Sears and/or Kmart posting - both businesses are going to bite the dust eventually are you trying to be the Great Savior by inhibiting postings

Get over it - move on with your life by finding a new job cuz' you're gonna lose yours

I agree. I at least wish they would specify when they're posting about a kmart.
