Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Macys has far too many useless direct and regional managers. Time to cut the fat.

The multi-store district operations manager and District Human Resource managers have to be the biggest joke in the company. In my instance they both cover approximately 4 stores with three of them being remote so they are only visiting those stores once a week. In most instances they are simply forwarding emails from the District director. In one form of another we have already gotten the information from our online portal or probably the AST or office mgr. If you ask a question, in most situations the are emailing the District director of HR for the answer.

In the case of the operations manager she simply comes in once a week and wreaks havoc on a plan that we have already established.

It is a complete inconvenience to the customer and they simply play along because we pressure them to. Pre selling an item 4 weeks out from the sale date is completely ridiculous in some instances I have pre-sold almost 6 weeks out for the lame monthly men's presale. While we were in Pre Sale we had a VIP event that was also the same 25% as the pre sale.

And then comes Monday morning when you get the dreaded email that says you did not make plan last week ..please make sure that you are not trading your sales... as if that is not precisely what pre-sell is doing!!!

So true. The district team gives you a quarterly floor plan that not fit your building in the end you have to spend hours revamping the plan and another week moving your floor... Usually having nothing to do with sells but a visual directive, simply confusing our customers.

You have a deep dive and make your suggestions for localized product mix which is overwritten by a regional director that doesn't understand your customer. My Macy's was and is a Joke.

Most of the time you receive 30 emails in the morning and then you realize that most of them are redundant. You've already received the information from the corporate portal and then you receive it from your District director although you were cc'd from the regional director and then you will have it forwarded from your operations manager and vpsm.

District manager spend most of their time micromanaging that ridiculous concept of presale. Sending emails without noxious red fonts to why you are not achieving your presale goal. although the current sell price is better than that which you are pre selling for

I hope Macys sells the company. It was the worst company I have ever worked for and I was a VPSM for 15 years. District staff is a joke led by the DVP. DVPS are glorified VPSMs. District team is horrible as they come to the store leave lists and do not even work an 8 hour day. Wake up Macys. Deep dive that you idiots.
