Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

You On H1-B Visa - Go Home

With thousands of Americans in the oil industry unemployed and looking for jobs, FINALLY someone is going after this loophole, extensively used by oil companies to discriminate against generally higher paid American employees, of the H1-B visa. Those of you in the Marathon tower, especially those from Europe and the U.K., where NO American can land employment, by name you will be singled out and communicated to the appropriate political personnel in the Trump organization. If you think that there is no Aemerican who can do your job, as well as you, you are dead wrong.

President Trump, thank God, is coming after you, and yes, we will be CERTAIN. that he knows that this abuse includes Marathon, and most other American Oil Companies, and not just high tech companies in Silicon Valley.

If you are a manager in any major oil company, your job should go to an American. And, yes, send the Americans working in your home country back over here. That's fair, too.

The immediately preceding post is interesting. When one cannot refute the facts, call he with whom he disagrees a bigot, stupid, mysogonist (sp), xenophobe, etc. it's people like you that just lost an election and, when jobs that could be done by Americans are filled by foreigners on H1-B visas, the original post was correct and it IS a visa problem.

Dude, your barking up the wrong tree. Expats aren't causing unemployment in the oil industry, it's low oil prices from over production and resultant cost cutting to try and make ends meet. Blaming expats for a core supply and demand imbalance doesn't accomplish anything, except expose you as a bigot. But that's OK, I'm sure you don't get it. Nor does your orange bud, he's implementing policies that will HUGELY increase production and depress prices further. That will only create more unemployment not less. But then simple minds like your's are easily distracted... SQUIRREL?!!

The foreigners generally have 'the drive' though.

Right on! I saw many examples in my asset team! The foreigners were generally competent (some weren't!) but I knew highly qualified Americans who could not even get an interview at MRO.
