Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Almost 14 years down the drain, Thanks!

Been with Lowes now 14 years and 13 as a dept mgr, managed 4 different positions with the company, ad more knowledge, experience, and had a harder work ethic than everyone they selected over me for their positions, gave everything i had to Lowes and this is how they repay me. Their loss on this one not mine, I will take my skill set and talents elsewhere where I am appreciated.

I'm in the same boat at the store I work at I have 10 years experience snd was turned down tor the new position but the store managers two pets got one and the other two went to a department manger with only and 2 years experience and no clue on store operations. This goes to show that the interview process was a hoax they knew who they wanted from the start!! I plan on serving my year and going somewhere else. I don't like people insulting my intelligence saying the scores were put into the computer and the names were selected. Lowe's doesn't have that kind of technology

I have over 10 years experience and 4 of the 6 Manager positions have a much less tenure and a women about to retire who is personal friends with store manager. It must have been a secret directive to the Store Managers. First fire your highest paid ASM you can afford to lose and then the same with the department managers. My Store Manager never liked me because he's an incompetent moron and I have no problem expressing that. He rather keep idiots and kiss asses around him to save his a--. He is never at store and when he is he can't even help a customer. I hope they fire him and bring someone in who will change the store. EOS scores went from 85 to 60 in one year and it's getting worse.

Over 15 years here. I never took a sick day always at work on time. Always stayed later.even worked "off the clock" many times to get work done as ordered. Now a csa back in lumber. It is amazing how many things a person can "forget" how to do when one goes from Department Manager to CSA in the space of 8 hrs.

I know..started my 21st year in Jan. 18 of those as a mngr. They REALLY dont have clue about loyalty. No one else is gonna do the job that I did for them. I was replaced by a mngr w/4 weeks under his belt..my wisdom & experience will soon belong to another company. No 2 wk notice either, I got 5 days from them!

I'm sorry for your job loss.

It is nothing you have done. It is normal to feel sad and angry and grieve the loss of your job. It sounds like you were a hard worker and took pride in your work and for that you should feel good about yourself.

The company is run terribly and by a bunch of executives who care about nothing but enriching themselves. The level of greed is astounding and unfortunately most employees, if not all, will eventually get laid off. Life will go on and new opportunities will appear. You have a lot to offer another company. You sound like a hardworking, loyal employee and another company would be lucky to have you.

Godspeed
