There are rumors that an organizational efficiency study is underway to determine how to rationalize expatriate positions in E.G. From what I have been told, there are expats over there overpaid and nursing cush positions for years. Are they over staffed with expats? Are they going to cut back? They have cut back in other field locations, so it does seem logical that it would hit E.G., sooner or later. But, is there any truth to it?

Don't forget the bean counters, why do we need so many expats to count beans ?
Marathon's contract with the EG government requires Marathon to share revenue or pay taxes soon. Does anyone know when this starts and how big a hit Marathon will take? Will they keep all those useless HR & Procurement expats who sit around watching the clock and nursing those huge uplifts?
Get ready the cuts are coming!
Layoffs have begun with more to come.
What are the people "working" the GOM doing? Other than getting ready to P&A Droshky, and spending four months doing that idiotic Standout Achievement Card, what else is there?
BTW, why are morons "working" (word is used loosely) never held accountable for their incompetence? We just thought the old team of HR "professionals" (also used very loosely) was bad, but I'd give my right arm to have them back. Note to HR Trolls: please spare us your response. This query is for the victims, not perpetrators, of your incompetence.
Ummmm take a look at floor 39 with some sprinkles on 38 & 37... lots of folks 'working' Gulf of Mexico
Most were either older folks who were happy to get severance, or were reassigned to other work, save some of the offshore experts, who were forced out under a "we don't need you now," scenario.
Wait, I thought Marathon got rid of the Gulf of Mexico and Kurdistan people, did they not?
There's been studies done all over the conventional realm but nothing comes from them. Unless you count FINALLY giving up on Gabon after we got it and did NOTHING with it. Surely you overpaid folks in E.G. Are just as safe as everyone else collecting an unearned paycheck from the blue wave. Take a look at Gulf of Mexico and Kurdistan for example.
