smith bits will never be the same. they going down. all the drillers ask for ponca bits. market share will plummet in Houston.( if they ever even get it up and running properly).. terrible decision! bigger pool to recruit from for talent in Houston they say. haha. more opertunities also. they will get em trained only to see them leave for better money and a decent company to work for.. jokes on them.

I do find it odd that a European CEO from a very high cost of living country makes decisions that destroys his and his friends way of life.
If you move all the jobs away from the higher cost of living countries then all your friends wont have jobs anymore. Just seems very ironic.

Trump will STOP both of these plans anyway that's why he is our next president.
As I have said a yr ago, goal is to do/move all Bit Mfg. in/to China. Most if not all the PDC cutters in Smith Bits today are Chinese. The next Mfg. plant to disappear is Mega Diamond. That will happen in 2018.
If they make it that long I would be very surprised, but for their sake I hope they do.
