Wondering if any of my fellow "Laid off" managers or associates are having problems with Wageworks (Cobra) . I paid my premium for September on 09/08/17 . As of tonight 09/21/17 BC/BS has not been contacted that I am fully paid and should be covered. I've called Wageworks everyday for the past 2 weeks and all I get is that a priority message has been sent to BC/BS. Getting tired of being told that I am covered and if I should go to a Dr it will be no problem. So far I have had 2 surgery procedures cancelled as I don't have any insurance. These were scheduled way back in July before our August 3 rd release. Just curious ...this could be considered Theft of Service. Payment provided but no goods or services delivered.
I love BB&B, there are so few stores that carry all the same types of products all in the same store. Supposedly in-store sales were poor, not @ my store, every time I went in there it was busy & I always had to stand in line to make a purchase. Heard Williams & Sonoma was their chief competitor, well I've never been there & I've been to BB&B almost every time I needed something for my home. I will really miss not being able to shop there anymore.
Confirmed: spoke with a regional manager, this person said the district staff knew, and that they needed to let go anyone who wasn't going to be promoted right away, and anyone making too much money, and to promote others to asm before layoffs happen. They chose their favorites. What they didn't tell them, was that more layoffs are coming for asm's... as well as store closures, because they are selling the company to private equity group and most all jobs will be eliminated.
The 'Department Manager' is being done away with and replaced with an hourly 'Department Supervisor' .
It's only the beginning, before they let more go, close stores and sell the company, the stock buyback was the first signal, it's all about greed, it's not about the employees or their families or their lives! The company s---s, and no one I know will ever go back there again for anything!
If anyone needs work in the DFW area Dillards is hiring and they pay great. Go to Dillards.com and select the area. I'm a manager at Northpark in Dallas.
Wow! Nothing beats 21 yrs! And yes that last page..not sure why that was there.but it does show age discrimination! But that was behind the other pages stating no lawsuits allowed!🤤
WAY TO GO CEO!!! STEVEN TEMAR-A--. ITS OBVIOUS THAT YOU ARENT CUTTING YOUR 16 MILLION A YEAR SALARY BUT INSTEAD GETTING RID OF ALL THE LITTLE PEOPLE( IN YOUR EYES)...THEY WORKED HARD NOT ONLY FOR THE LITTLE THEY GOT BUT MADE YOU A RICH SON OF A B----. REMEMBER IN LIFE---WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. I VOW TO NOT SHOP IN THE STORE OR ONLINE FROM BBB AGAIN.
Layed off 8/3/2017. Reading all the above 1 of the 900 let go from Bed Bath and beyond. The why? Once again the greed of a company becomes the most important thing. 2 months to 5 years of service with bed bath, 17 years of total experience let go because the millionaire need more millions. This is only the beginning for this company, they have obviously lost sight of what made them a billion dollar company and no longer care about the ones making the money. We all know the impact of Amazon and other online stores, but cutting the employees making it happen every day is not the answer. Start at the TOP
I was let go 18 1/2 years, reviews were always good got along with my fellow associates. Then wham day off I get a phone call from my Store Mgr with HR on speaker and am let go. Tells me to come by to pick up folder with info and forms in it, and tells me I can use him as a reference. ....all total 5 were let go at my store in TX.
This was bull s--t
A lot of husbands and wives who both worked for the company fired from BBB on tuesday. Leaving the families with no income. Way to go BBB.
California location-While on vacation a deposit was made it to my account from BBB... I'm an ASM was with this company 7 years...Spent most of my time working to be a successful ASM...IT'S a VERY SAD WEEK for all BBB DEPT. MGR's, ASM's and anyone else effected by this...Was contacted by the DM today, prior to my return date to come in to speak with the SM and DM...Received a severance package....WOW!!!way to go BBB....
Was with company for 13years in Ftg. Am 60 years old. That says it all. Thanks BBB.
We no have receiving staff so this is going to be interesting
I agree I think if they changed their return policy to excludes fair wear and tear that alone would save millions a year .wonder how they are going to recive because they lost all their reciving managers
The problem with BBB are many. There idea's on running this company are in the dark ages. From old technology, no up grades to the POS system sooo out of date. The return policy is a joke. they would rather let the "Customer lie and cheat them out of millons on a monthy basis" then value the employee's. At the store I was at in 1 week alone the returns brought back to the store and then given out for donations was 27,000 dollars. all to allow the customer the open ended return policy. Why don't we just put a sign up thats says " use the items you bought and retun them when ever you want no questions asked and we do it with a smile and thank you for shopping at BBB. Heaven forbid we try and protect the store from stolen product and then being returned for a store credit and that credit being sold out on the street. The theft in all of the BBB is out of control and the company says don't go after them. the staffs saftey is of the most importance....... What a crock of cow manuer..with this lastest move....Shame on you CEO Steve for taking the 10 mill plus you so did not deserve..... I hope you truley get what is coming to you...You must not have a concious or believe in a higher power
I am wondering how many of these lay offs were women, must of the lay offs I heard of today in my district were women.
Get a lawyer ...CLASS ACTION
Was laid off as well but the store kept 1 dpt mgr. So it wasnt all dpt mgrs. How the decision came from choosing who stays and goes? Especially when 1 works harder than the other. I guess being lazy pays off.
Ages of eligible employees in the decisional unit selected for separation.
Title Department manager Age 45
Ages of eligible employees in the decisional unit NOT selected for separation.
Title Department manager
Age 30, 35, 40
I was laid off today also, but at the back of my severance paper was another paper that was an example of who where to be let go. It said Exhibit A, all Department managers In Employee's District were eligible to be selected for separation as part of the realignment.
She's of eligible employees in the decisions unit selected for separation.
Title Department manager Age 44
She's of eligible employees in decisions unit not selected for separation Dept manager Ages 30, 35, and 40. Isn't this age discrimination!
How can they say with a straight face it is an across the board department manager layoff yet keep one of the four department managers in my store. Maybe they should look at down sizing the corp. dead weight with high paychecks , that do nothing more than point there finger and blame others of the loss of business. How are they helping the situation? Take a pay cut take care of the people who earn your money instead of dropping them and distroying their family's and lively hood.
Also let go today after 16 years. My replacement will already be there on Monday.
Let go as well. 5.5 years of service completely disregarded in favor of a cheaper newly hired alternative. No loyalty.
I also was let go today after 12 years of service. Where is the loyalty they always harp on having at BB&B. "b---s---" there is none. If you think that this is a great company to work for your highly mistaken my friend. I was hired on as a department manager and have given them my all for the twelve years and for what. I also have four fellow employees that were also let go today, one was a store manager for years until she was asked to step down to a department manager and just 3 months away from her twenty years with the company. Tell me how this can happen.
TODAY!!!!
I was let go today at a Southern California store! I was a department manager for 11 years :-)
Just got let go today, no option to step down in position. Department manager position is being eliminated. Only a select few will keep jobs with district manager deciding on who will stay. 900 lay offs. The company let direct deposit go through Wednesday without reaching out to employees first so we knew something was up.
I was just let go today. According to them, they are cutting many Senior Manager positions for lower volume stores.
900 department managers and assistants are affected. Press release coming later
Bed Bath abd Beyond Department managers laid off today 8/3/17 witg severance package.
Disregard the above comment about 200 layoffs, that was not at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Apparently about 200 layoffs happened this week (week of 1/9/17) at the corporate level. No idea if there were layoffs at the store staff level.
