If I put in my two weeks notice this friday, will I get paid for Thanksgiving holiday? I plan to take that week off with my last day being Dec 2 nd. Will they walk you out when you put in your two weeks? Not working for competitor. What should I expect?

Just grab some pu--y and they will walk you right out.
I resigned in May and they had me work my whole 2 weeks. You should be good through Thanksgiving.
I agree, HR/UOP does not care. This is why we are all interviewing and looking for new jobs. They are looking for people to leave. Leaning out for the new company. I don't plan on giving my 2 weeks. If you do give notice, don't do it before 2 weeks. Why would they keep you to pay you for all the holidays? Use your head!
There ya go that's the positive attitude everyone comes on this site for! Why leave ?
UOP HR doesn't care what you have to say in an exit interview. They don't care about any of you. All they care about is towing the company line now to keep their jobs, which means fire people for cause whenever possible and minimize any severance package for people laid off. If you think HR is on your side, get real! Give your boss notice the day you are leaving.
You'll be sodomized. If queer, you might could be happy.
Also, demand an exit interview. My boss told me "we don't do those here" and after I left, I spoke with others who left at the same time who DID have an exit interview. If you boss says no, go straight to HR and request one. Then, tell them everything they need to know about your department and boss.
When I put in my two weeks...they walked me out but they still paid me for my two weeks...so it is like a little mini-vacation. You don't have to tell them where you are going in your resignation letter...if you want to be walked out...make it vague so they have to assume it is a competitor. Then, you should get walked out. If you give 2 weeks on Friday, you will still definitely get paid for Thanksgiving week.
Give notice on Monday after Thanksgiving. One week
