WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
Sears and its auto center in West Hartford will be closing early next year.
According to company spokesperson, the Connecticut store was sold recently to “Seritage Growth Partners as part of the agreement in which Sears Holdings leases the store from the Seritage.”
Through this agreement, Seritage “has the right to recapture the space occupied by the store and Sears Auto Center locations.”
The company spokesperson said the Sears Auto Center will close in early January and the store itself will shut down late January.
A liquidation sale at the store will start on Nov. 11.
The company did not disclose the total number of employees at the store. However, the company spokesperson said the eligible employees will “receive severance and have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Sears or Kmart stores.”
